Found the perfect character miniature, terrain piece, or display model as an STL file? The next step is turning that download into a clear print request. At PrintedByAliens, you can contact us with your file, desired size, and quantity so we can review printability and provide a quote.
A few details up front help us understand what you want on the table. Use this checklist before sending your project.
1. Identify the exact model and parts
Include the model's name, designer, and the file or a link we can review. If your download contains several poses, alternate heads, or optional accessories, tell us which ones you want. A screenshot of the intended combination can help explain a multipart build.
List the base separately if it is a separate file. “One character” can mean different things when a folder contains both standing and mounted versions, so name the specific version you have in mind.
2. Describe the finished size
Tell us whether the piece should match your existing miniatures, fit a particular base, or stay within a display space. If you have a required dimension, give it in millimeters and say where you are measuring: total height, base diameter, or overall width, for example.
A request such as “the complete model, including its base, must fit inside a 100 mm tall display space” is much clearer than “make it small.” For a gaming miniature, sharing the scale of your current collection gives us useful context.
3. Count the pieces you need
Separate the number of models from the number of sets. “Six identical rats and one character” describes the order more clearly than “a party encounter.” For terrain, specify whether you want the entire set or selected pieces.
Also tell us the intended use: a game-night miniature, a painting project, or a display centerpiece. If you have a target date, include it in your message so timing can be discussed when the project is reviewed.
4. Confirm permission to have the file printed
You must have permission to have the file printed. Include the designer's license information or relevant permission with your request. If the terms are unclear, ask the designer before moving ahead. A purchase receipt and permission to commission a print are separate details worth checking.
