Prusa's October 6, 2026 Halloween roundup introduces Ghost Studio, a free web app created by Kryštof Kohout. It turns an existing model into a ghost-like shape by draping a virtual sheet over its geometry.
From a familiar shape to a ghost
The app accepts STL, 3MF, and OBJ files and includes a Benchy example for trying the process. Controls adjust how closely the upper sheet follows the source object and how the lower folds hang. Users can also place see-through eyes.
Export options include downloading an STL, opening the result in PrusaSlicer, or sending it to EasyPrint. Prusa suggests starting with a distinctive upper shape and a relatively small footprint for a convincing draped result.
A playful idea for a tabletop project
Our suggested experiment is to make two versions of the same simple shape: one recognizable and one heavily draped. On a gaming table, that could become a visual clue about an object hidden beneath a spectral covering. Test the silhouette at your intended scale before planning a whole scene around it.
Generated geometry still needs the usual print preparation and inspection. Use a model you have permission to modify and check its license before sharing a remix.
