Anycubic outlined Software 2.0 on September 10, covering its firmware, app, and Slicer Next. The official announcement highlights four changes:
- Remote access to more supported printer controls.
- File search and synchronized cloud/printer file management.
- Custom filament settings shared across supported devices.
- Print history and related settings available in the slicer.
The examples focus on filament printing. Check compatibility for your printer and software versions. We have not tested these changes ourselves.
Why file organization matters for hobby projects
A scenery collection rarely arrives on the table in one session. You might make two walls now, add a doorway next month, then want another matching section when the campaign expands. A clear record helps you return to the version you meant to use.
One useful habit is to give a project a recognizable name and keep a short note alongside it. Record what the part is for, its intended dimensions, the material used, and any change made after the previous attempt. “Market wall, short version, second test” is easier to recognize than a row of nearly identical thumbnails.
Before reusing an old project, compare it with the new part it needs to join. Check the fit, the intended tabletop footprint, and whether you changed the surrounding scenery since the earlier print. Software can make a file easier to retrieve; your project notes explain why that file was worth keeping.
