Prusa lists CORE One firmware 7.0.0 with an October 5, 2026 release date. Its official changelog includes new filament controls alongside usability changes and fixes.
What the release notes highlight
- A Runout Reaction setting for immediate or delayed handling when filament runs out.
- Filament color support, tool mapping presets and Smart mapping.
- PrusaLink downloads that preserve long file names.
- Fixes covering issues such as homing and Wi-Fi communication.
The changelog also lists hardware-specific features and changes carried forward from earlier builds. Read the notes for your exact printer and accessories rather than assuming every listed feature applies to every configuration.
What to consider for a hobby workspace
Our suggestion is to begin with a problem you actually want to solve. Do you lose track of similarly named files? Do you want a clearer record of material choices? Write down the behavior you expect before changing your setup, so you have something concrete to check afterward.
Keep a note of the printer configuration and settings used for a successful project. After following the manufacturer's update instructions, a small familiar test is easier to compare than a new, complicated print with several unknowns. Change one part of the workflow at a time when practical.
Use the manufacturer's instructions
Start at the CORE One support page for the appropriate download and update guidance. This is a report on the release notes, not a hands-on assessment of firmware performance.
If your goal is simply to paint and play, you can also buy physical models without running a printer. Our physical miniatures versus STL files guide explains the two shopping routes.
